Meet the Team Behind S.F. Dog Walking Excursions

S.F. Dog Walking Excursions : Off-Leash Group Walks for San Francisco Dogs

Meet Lisa

Lisa is a Certified Professional Dog Walker and graduate of the dog*tec Dog Walking Academy. She attended San Francisco’s Puppy Prep Dog Training Academy focusing on dog behavior.

As a member of the Professional Pet Guild she adheres to their guiding principles by practicing applied behavior analysis to systematically identify and resolve problem behaviors using the least aversive and intrusive methods, tools and equipment. She advocates against the use of any training tools or equipment whose purpose and/or intent is to interrupt or redirect behavior using fear, force or pain. Lisa enjoys learning and pursues ongoing education and professional development through DogNostics Education.

Lisa’s extensive background in the childcare sector has greatly influenced her approach to working with dogs. Having spent 15 years as the founder and director of a preschool, she recognizes the significance of establishing policies that prioritize the well-being and safety of every dog in her care, especially in an industry that lacks regulation. Lisa places great importance on building a personal connection with each dog to understand their unique behaviors and needs. She views mistakes as valuable learning opportunities and handles them with patience and kindness. Lisa also acknowledges that disruptive behavior can arise when dogs are not adequately stimulated. She firmly believes that dogs thrive when they have a consistent schedule and routine in place.

Lisa is a San Francisco native and enjoys hanging out in the city with her 15-year-old rescue dog, Rico. She enjoys volunteering at Muttville helping elderly dogs that need behavior training and supporting open adoptions with the aim to find them their forever home
